Woman awakes to find stranger cuddling her in bed

BEIJING, Jan. 12 (Xinhuanet) -- A U.S. woman woke up in the morning as usual only to find a stranger cuddling her in bed.

Washington D.C. Police said the incident happened early Sunday morning in the victim's residence in Glover Park, according to media reports Tuesday.

"I woke up at about 6:15 a.m. with a stranger in my bed," the victim said. "He was not there when I went to sleep last night."

Police said they don't know how the intruder got into the house. Nothing was missing in the house and the victim said she was not harmed.

Police are looking into the possibility that the incident is related to other "cuddling" incidents in the area.

In late August, a female Georgetown University student woke up and found a person touching her inappropriately while she was in bed.

Two days earlier a man entered a student's home through an unlocked front door and lay down on a couch with the victim, who was startled awake and told the man to leave.

Other similar cases were reported and students call him the "Cuddler" because he will climb into a bed or couch where a resident is sleeping.
